Local farm produce businesses have been advised to come up with concrete strategies to take full advantage of opportunities presented by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), according to insiders.

The agriculture sector enjoyed a trade surplus of 8.8 billion USD in the first 11 months of this year, 1.5 billion USD higher than the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Vietnam Technology and Equipment Market (Techmart) in the fields of cultivation, farm produce and food processing and preservation opened in Ho Chi Minh City on May 9.

The People’s Committees of provinces and cities across the country have been ordered to outline plans to fight drought and saline intrusion in the context of low water levels in many reservoirs, making it hard to provide sufficient water for agriculture production during the dry season 2018-2019.

Experts gathered at a workshop in Hanoi on June 15 to discuss activities to adapt to climate change in the agricultural sector to implement the Paris Agreement.
