#ASEAN market

With ASEAN member states continuing to have great demand for importing goods moving into the post-pandemic period, there remains bright prospects ahead for Vietnamese enterprises to promote the export of local goods to the regional bloc.

Local enterprises are being urged to strictly follow consumer trends, strive to improve product quality, and ensure reasonable prices in the face of fierce competition from other countries within the ASEAN bloc.

Ever since the ASEAN Economic Community was established at the end of 2015, businesses in Vietnam have been gradually capitalising on the bloc’s import tariff cuts to swell their exports, helping to narrow down an on-going trade deficit between Vietnam and other ASEAN markets.

Since Vietnam joined the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), it has promoted its role and sought opportunities to penetrate ASEAN markets.

Vietnam will serve as a bridge for European enterprises to gain access to the ASEAN market toward a free and fair trade, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Vietnam EU-Belgium Business Forum on October 17 as part of his official visit to Belgium.
