#Central Military Commission

In the first six months of 2026, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence have provided sound strategic advice to the Party and State on military and defence matters, maintained the strategic initiative, and prevented any passive or unexpected situations. Efforts to build a politically strong army have continued alongside comprehensive Party and political work and strict implementation of the Party's resolutions and regulations.

The event aimed to highlight key achievements over the past decade and offered a platform for exemplary individuals and collectives to share experiences, spread positive examples, and encourage officers, Party members, and soldiers to continue studying and following the late leader’s thought, morality, and lifestyle.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, who is also Secretary of the Central Military Commission, chaired the commission’s sixth session in Hanoi on July 3 to review the fulfillment of military and national defence tasks, and Party building in the first half of this year, and roll out tasks for the last six months.

The Public Security Central Party Committee (PSCPC) and the Central Military Commission held a meeting on December 20 to celebrate the 77th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 – 2021) and the 32nd All-People Defense Festive Day (December 22, 1989 – 2021).

The Central Military Commission held the 10th emulation congress of the entire army in Hanoi on June 23.

The Central Military Commission held a conference in Hanoi on May 25 to collect feedback on draft documents to be submitted to the 11th Party Congress of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence held a political-military conference in Hanoi on June 28 to review the outcomes of military and defence work in the first half of 2018 and launch tasks for the remaining months.

The Central Military Commission held a meeting in Hanoi on April 10 to review the implementation of military and defence tasks and discuss the focus of this work in the time ahead.

The Central Military Commission and the Defence Ministry held a Political-Military Conference for the whole army in Hanoi on December 13 to review the military performance and role model movement in 2016 and launch tasks for 2017.
