Reaffirming Vietnam’s consistent position of condemning terrorism in all forms, manifestations and motivations, Minister Counsellor Nguyen Hai Luu, Deputy Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, called on UN member states to strengthen cooperation in investigating, prosecuting and bringing to trial individuals and organizations responsible for planning, carrying out or financing terrorist acts, including those linked to terrorist incidents in Vietnam in recent years.

A Vietnamese diplomat to the United Nations has called on the international community to strengthen cooperation and introduce effective solutions in order to combat terrorism amidst serious threats posed by IS activities in recent times.

The first ASEAN-Australia Special Summit opened in Sydney on March 16, in the presence of Australia’s Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, and leaders of ASEAN nations including Vietnamese PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
