An additional 659 domestic and 3 imported cases were recorded over the past 12 hours to 6 a.m on July 12 morning, with Ho Chi Minh reporting the highest number of infections at 544, said the Health Ministry.

As many as 189 people have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus in five localities across Vietnam during the past 12 hours, raising its national cumulative caseload to 17,052.

A further 116 fresh active COVID-19 cases, including one imported infection were confirmed by the Ministry of Health during an update at midday on June 30, thereby raising the total number of infections to 13,771 since the virus recurred in the nation two months ago.

The Health Ministry confirmed 50 more local COVID-19 cases over the past 6 hours May 21, raising Vietnam's infection tally in its new coronavirus wave to 1,835.
