#drug smuggling

The police broke up a huge transnational drug smuggling ring that has illegally trafficked and distributed a total of 1.6 tonnes of drugs of different types for consumption in Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

Police in the northern mountainous province of Son La on June 4 arrested a man when he was illegally transporting 20 bricks of heroin (about seven kilograms) in Co Phay hamlet, Tan Lap commune, Moc Chau district. 

A court in central Vietnam on September 12 sentenced two men to death and another to life in prison for smuggling more than 7kg of heroin into Vietnam from Laos in 2014.

September 10, The police Department for Investigation of Drug-related crimes under the Quang Binh Police arrested 3 men for illegal transporting drugs, seized a large quantity of 6000 synthetic drug pills and other exhibits related to the purchase, sale, and transportation of drugs.
