#EU market

Local businesses have been advised to diversify their cashew products as part of efforts aimed at increasing exports to the EU and retaining its leading position in the demanding market moving forward, according to insiders.

 A virtual trade exchange will be held on April 25 - 26 to provide Vietnamese businesses with the latest information about market trends as well as opportunities to export aquatic products to the European Union, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

While the national agriculture sector is poised to enjoy numerous opportunities brought about by the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), many of its export items are likely to face new challenges when attempting to penetrate the stringent EU market.

Vietnam took market share of EU trade away from other ASEAN nations in 2015, a trend that appears likely to continue in light of a free trade agreement it concluded with the regional bloc earlier in 2016.
