The PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), a subsidiary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), set a goal of producing 1,707 million KWh of power and earning nearly VND2.5 trillion (US$110.3 million) in November.
The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) contributed a total of VND75.4 trillion, equivalent of US$3.32 billion, to the State budget throughout the first 10 months of this year, an increase of 23% from the same period last year and a figure 21% higher than the yearly plan.
Vietnam has since 1987 exported 355 million tons of crude oil worth a total of US$145 billion, said Nguyen Sinh Khang, deputy general director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN).
President Tran Dai Quang encouraged US businesses to make investment in Vietnam’s energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, finance-banking, education and training, and tourism while addressing a workshop on the Vietnam-US prospects in 2017 and the following years in Hanoi on May 19.
