General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam held phone talks with President of Switzerland Guy Parmelin, during which the Vietnamese leader voiced his hope that both sides would continue joint work to effectively realise and further deepen the bilateral Comprehensive Partnership established in January 2025.
The state visit to Sri Lanka by the top Vietnamese Party and State leader is expected to become an important political milestone, injecting new impetus and opening up a new phase in bilateral ties, with stronger political trust and broader, deeper, more effective and substantive partnerships.
On the basis of the Vietnam – India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two sides particularly emphasised the need for effective coordination in combating terrorism, transnational crime, online fraud, and emerging threats, thereby contributing to ensuring national security and social order in each country.
