Since April 2018, the made-in-Vietnam combination measles-rubella vaccine started being used in the expanded national vaccination program (NEVP), replacing the long-standing imported vaccine.

Vietnam has successfully produced a combined measles-rubella vaccine as part of a project with co-operation from the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).
