Construction of the Huu Nghi-Chi Lang Expressway, the final sub-project of a mega project to build the eastern wing of the North-South Expressway, began at a ceremony in the northern border province of Lang Son on April 21, with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attending.

The project management boards and contractors are working day and night to complete the three sub-projects of the west part of the North-South expressway phase 2017-2020, including Mai Son-National Expressway 45, Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet-Dau Giay, ahead of the upcoming holiday on April 30.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 28 inspected the Mai Son (Ninh Binh province)-National Highway 45 project, a section of the North-South Expressway.

PSNews - A Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) contract for the construction of the Nha Trang – Cam Lam expressway, a subproject of the North-South expressway, was signed in Hanoi on May 6.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc was in attendance for a groundbreaking ceremony on September 30 to mark the start of construction on sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway in Thanh Hoa province.

Almost all 36 investors who are interested in developing subprojects of the big-ticket North-South Expressway are South Korean and Chinese enterprises, with two coming from France.

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has approved plans to select contractors for 11 sub-projects of the North-South expressway project, according to the ministry. 

With 83.1 percent of approval, the National Assembly approved a resolution on investment policy for the construction of some road sections in the eastern route of the North-South Expressway in 2017-2020 at the ongoing fourth session of the 14th legislature in Hanoi on November 22.
