Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with ministries, agencies and the national energy security task force to discuss measures to ensure a proactive energy supply for socio-economic development and support double-digit growth targets amid mounting tensions in the Middle East affecting global energy supply chains.

The retail prices of oil and petrol recorded another increase as of 15:00 on June 13 following the latest adjustments made by the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), a subsidiary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), set a goal of producing 1,707 million KWh of power and earning nearly VND2.5 trillion (US$110.3 million) in November.

The retail prices of oil and petrol rose sharply from 3 pm on April 17 following adjustments made by the ministries of finance and industry and trade.

The Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro held a ceremony in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on March 8 to welcome the first flow of oil it pumped up from Ca Tam field. 

Deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission and Chairman of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group’s Member Council Tran Sy Thanh held a working session with authorities of the central province of Quang Nam on March 1 to discuss the launch of Blue Whale gas field project – the largest of its kind in Vietnam. 

Vietnam has since 1987 exported 355 million tons of crude oil worth a total of US$145 billion, said Nguyen Sinh Khang, deputy general director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN).

President Tran Dai Quang encouraged US businesses to make investment in Vietnam’s energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, finance-banking, education and training, and tourism while addressing a workshop on the Vietnam-US prospects in 2017 and the following years in Hanoi on May 19.
