The trip by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to attend the UN Summit of the Future and the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), and hold working sessions in the US is expected to provide fresh opportunities for trade ties with the US.

With its continuous growth over the past 10 years, ASEAN has become an important market for Vietnamese seafood, and the prospect of US$1 billion worth of yearly seafood export revenue is reachable.

Vietnam’s agriculture sector targets growth of 2.5 to 2.8 per cent next year, production value growth of 3 to 3.2 per cent, and total export turnover of $32.5 billion.

Aquatic product exports are expected to reach US$8 billion this year, forecast Ha Cong Tuan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
