Vietnam exported 79,900 tonnes of tea, worth US$133 million during the opening eight months of the year, down 5.6% in volume and 1.4% in value year on year, according to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

Statistics from the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security show that in the week ending on February 4, the whole country saw 214 traffic accidents which took the lives of 135 people and injured 189 others.

Losses caused by traffic accidents in Vietnam amount to 50 trillion VND (over 2.12 billion USD) each year, equivalent to 30 percent of budget spending on education, or 1. 5 million people going without income for the whole year.
