Ministers and industry leaders identified opportunities to strengthen cooperation in AI development and governance, including how the US AI Exports Programme can support ASEAN member states’ AI policy development.

PSNews - Vietnam recognises the more positive assessment made in the 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report by the US Department of State, Spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang told a regular press briefing on June 22.

During a regular press briefing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held on July 22,  Deputy Spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang was responding to a question during a regular press briefing regarding the 2022 Trafficking in Persons Report launched by the US Department of State.

PSNews - During the press briefing held on March 17, Spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of protecting and promoting fundamental rights of citizens, including rights of women.

The US Department of State’s 2017 International Religious Freedom Report continued to give biased assessment and cited untrue information on Vietnam, stated Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Although the 2017 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices of the US Department of State recognised Vietnam’s achievements in protecting human rights, it still made some assessments that are not objective and do not reflect correctly the actual situation in the country.

An initiative by the Mekong Youth Farm Network (Y-Farm) that focuses on youth engagement in organic farming and educating the younger generation in sustainable agriculture has won a grant from the US Department of State.
