Vietnam is anticipated to become the world’s third largest rice exporter next year with an estimated export volume reaching 6.3 million tonnes, according to the projection made by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Vietnam has now begun officially exporting its mangoes to the US market, after the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) gave permission for the import of fresh mangoes from the Southeast Asian nation in 2017.

Rice export achieved remarkable results in the first eight months of 2018 relying upon the improved purchasing power of the world market.

Falling demand and overseas competition are expected to bite into Vietnam's rice exports.
