PSNews- The Ca Tam 1 oil rig’s upper deck was successfully erected on August 10, 2018 at the Vietsovpetro port manufacturing site (Vung Tau City) by the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture (Vietsovpetro) Survey and Repair Construction Enterprise.

The Vietnam-Russia joint venture Vietsovpetro reported that its oil and gas production in the first quarter of 2019 surpassed its target for the period.

Prison sentences ranging from 4-9 years have been proposed for two ex-leaders of the Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro for “abusing position and power to appropriate assets”.

The Vietnam-Russia Oil and Gas Joint Venture Vietsovpetro has pumped up more than 230 million tonnes of crude oil and provided 34 billion cubic metres of associated gas since its exploitation of the first tonnes of the resource in Vietnam in June 1986.
