200 activities to be hosted by Vietnam in the APEC year

PSNews - The schedule for APEC 2017 activities in Vietnam has been agreed. It will comprise some 200 activities to be held in 10 cities and provinces, including the APEC Summit Week in Da Nang. 

Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of SOM APEC 2017 Bui Thanh Son released the information at a press conference on APEC Vietnam 2017 on December 9th afternoon, in Hanoi.

The Deputy Foreign Minister said, after the successful 14th APEC 2006, Vietnam is honored and ready to host the 25th Asia - Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2017.

Five Sub-Committees have been found, in charge of the agendas, logistics, health and safety, communications, as well as protocols, which are making preparations  in accordance with the roadmap approved by the Prime Minister. 

APEC 2017 will include a series of important events hosted by Vietnam in 2017, which are expected to discuss international and regional trade and issues relating to economic interests.

Senior international officials, experts, business community highly valued the theme of APEC VIETNAM 2017 “Creating new driving force for a common future” as it answers the development trends of the world, the region and member economies.

Therefore, Vietnam as the host of APEC 2017 will exert all-out efforts to generate a new motivation for environmental improvement, innovation, bringing benefits to people, business community and APEC member economies.

The Chairman of SOM APEC 2017 Bui Thanh Son also introduced the prioritized subjects, logo website apec2017.vn, schedule of APEC 2017 as well as the preparation process of Vietnam. Accordingly, the schedule for APEC 2017 has been passed with 200 activities to be held in 10 Vietnamese cities and provinces, including the APEC Summit Week in Da Nang.

As the host of APEC 2017, Vietnam will give priorities to continuously implement the agreements having reached by APEC members.
