2025 National Sen Village Festival officially opens

 In celebration of the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890–2025), the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, solemnly held a ceremony to open the 2025 National Sen Village Festival on the evening of May 15, in Nghe An province.

It was also participated in by many incumbent and former high-ranking officials, including former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Head of the Central Commission for Organization Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, among others.

A highlight of the event was the inauguration of the statue “President Ho Chi Minh’s Visit to His Hometown”, a gift of gratitude from the Ministry of Public Security to the people of Nghe An on the occasion of the President’s 135th birthday, which is located at Sen Village Stadium in Kim Lien commune.

Cast entirely in bronze with the application of a modern hydraulic press technology, the statue weighs six tons, stands 8.3 meters tall.

It portrays a friendly and simple-style image of President Ho Chi Minh during his second visit to his hometown in 1961.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To underscored that the statue was built with profound respect, sacred feelings and boundless gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh of the Ministry of Public Security and the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee.

“A Monument Alive in Millions of Hearts” art program.

He stressed that the statue represents a historical and significant symbol as well as a distinguished cultural-architectural landmark and a revered place for domestic and international visitors to pay respect on their trip to Uncle Ho’s homevillage.The opening ceremony continued with a special artistic program titled “A Monument Alive in Millions of Hearts”, featuring a wide variety of performances enhanced by advanced sound and lighting technologies.

The program offered an emotionally resonant space that vividly portrayed President Ho Chi Minh and recalled heartfelt stories about his life and enduring legacy.
