41st ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly website, mobile app and identifier launched

PSNews - The website, at http://aipa2020.vn, and the “AIPA2020” mobile application will provide official news regarding the activities and events held under Vietnam’s chairmanship during 2020 

Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan,  National Assembly Chairwoman and Chair of the 41st General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA 41) attended a ceremony on August 13 to launch the official website, mobile application, and identity programe of the AIPA Chair Year 2020.

The launching ceremony also saw the participation of National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu.

The website, at http://aipa2020.vn, and the “AIPA2020” mobile application will provide official news regarding the activities and events held under Vietnam’s chairmanship during 2020 as well as creates favourable conditions for registering and exchanging documents and giving online notifications fromthe organising board and national secretariat to members.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who is also head of the National Steering Committee for AIPA 41, highly appreciated the active efforts of its organizing board and Sub-Committee for Information and Communications in building the website, mobile application and identifier.

She also noted that, in 2020, Vietnam has taken on the role of non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, ASEAN Chair, and AIPA Chair, adding that all activities within the ASEAN and AIPA Chair Year have been organized successfully despite the impact of COVID-19.

Vietnam will organize AIPA 41 online from September 8-10, given the complex nature of the pandemic. This is the first time the assembly has been held online.

She underlined that the organization of AIPA 41 and related activities are a highlight of the foreign relations work of the 14th National Assembly in its role as the AIPA Chair for the third time.

Additionally, Ngan instructed the organising board of AIPA 41 to direct the information and communication sub-committee in association with the AIPA 41 National Secretariat and other sub-committees to urgently update information on the website and mobile application on the AIPA’s activities, especially regarding the AIPA 41 General Assembly.
