75th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election marked in Bac Ninh province

PSNews – The National Assembly (NA) delegation of Bac Ninh province on December 23 held a meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Vietnam’s first general election and to review the results of its performance in the NA 2016-2021 term.

General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security among other delegates, attended the event.  At the event, the delegates reviewed the 75-year tradition of the National Assembly of Vietnam and the contributions of generations of the province’s NA deputies.

According to the delegates, NA deputies representing the will and aspirations of the nation, have successfully completed their responsibility and historical mission during the NA history, helping the NA increasingly gain  trust of the people and raise the position of Vietnam's National Assembly on the international arena.

The National Assembly of each term of office has made a remarkable milestone as it has always completed the tasks assigned by the people. In the National Assembly's 14th term, the National Assembly delegation of the Bac Ninh province with seven members has collaborated with the province’s authorities to organize 217 meetings with voters in 8 districts, towns and cities to listen, answers hundreds of voters' queries.

During the meetings, the province’s NA deputies also briefed local voters on the work of law building and other activities of the National Assembly. 

For the questions raised by local voters beyond their capacity, the NA deputies submitted them to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, which would then send to relevant ministries and central branches for answers. Many other issues raised by the voters were also presented by the province’s NA deputies at the National Assembly’s working sessions.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam expressed his delight at the positive development of Bac Ninh in recent years.

He thanked local voters for their trust and confidence in the province’s NA deputies as well as the NA in general, and expressed his gratitude to all Party committees, authorities and Fatherland Front committees of Bac Ninh for their great support for the province’s NA deputies, underscoring that their support has helped him successfully fulfill his assigned tasks as a National Assembly delegate of the province.

On the occasion, under the authority of the State President, Minister To Lam awarded the Second-Class “Labor” Order to Ms. Tran Thi Hang, Deputy Head of the National Assembly delegation of Bac Ninh province for her excellent contribution to the NA and the province during the 2016-21 term. 

Several other individuals and teams were also awarded for their contributions to the success of the National Assembly delegation of Bac Ninh province in the 2016-2021 term.
