Chinese Chairman of People’s Congress receives Minister To Lam

PSNews– Mr. Li Zhanshu, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China on October 11 received Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, who is on his visit to China and to co-chair the 6th Vietnam – China Conference on Cooperation in Crime Control.

Mr. Li Zhanshu warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the visit of the Vietnamese Minister and his role as co-chairman of the 6th Vietnam – China Conference on Cooperation in Crime Control. He also conveyed best regards from Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, as well as deep condolences to the Party and State of Vietnam on President Tran Dai Quang's death.

Mr. Li also spoke highly of the outcomes of cooperation between the public security forces of the two countries in crime prevention and combat, contributing to cementing the bilateral ties between the two Parties, States and people and expanding cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of China and the MPS of Vietnam.

He suggested that the public security forces of the two countries continue to promote cooperation in preventing and fighting crimes, particularly transnational and organized crimes, terrorism, human trafficking, high-tech and drug-related crimes, contributing to ensuring security and order in each country, and for stability, peace and development in the region and the world.

Minister To Lam thanked Mr. Li for his reception, extended best regards from Vietnamese General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh to Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, thanked the Party and Government of China for their condolences given to the Party, State and people of Vietnam over the deaths of former General Secretary Do Muoi and President Tran Dai Quang.

Minister To Lam also congratulated on the outcomes of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 1st Session of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference as well as the achievements gained by the Party, State and people of China over the 40 years of renovation under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party.

He also reiterated that the Party and State of Vietnam always attach great importance to developing ties with China, considering China one of the top priorities in Vietnam's foreign policy on the basis of independent, self-reliance, multilateralism, diversification for peace, cooperation and development. Minister To Lam stressed the importance of the common perceptions reached by the leaders of the two Parties, Governments, which can be considered major orientations for cooperation between the law enforcement forces of the two countries.

Minister To Lam highlighted that the cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and relevant agencies of China in the past time in various fields has gained good and practical results, contributing to protecting the Communist Party and socialism of each country, ensuring political stability, peace and happiness of each people, and serving as an important pillar in the Vietnam – China comprehensive strategic partnership.
