Chinese Party chief hosts Vietnamese Party leader’s special envoy

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping hosted a reception on October 30 in Beijing for Hoang Binh Quan, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and special envoy of Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong.

Quan conveyed the Vietnamese Party chief’s congratulations to Xi Jinping  on the success of the CPC’s 19th Congress and his re-election as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee (19th tenure).

He expressed hope that the two sides will make greater efforts to further develop the time-honoured friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, adding that the Party, State and people of Vietnam are elated with the success of the CPC’s 19th Congress.

Quan said he believes under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee, the Party, State and people of China will successfully reach goals set by the 19th Congress and reap greater achievements in the cause of building and developing socialism.

The Party and State of Vietnam always place importance on developing good neighbourliness and all-around cooperation with the CPC and State of China, hoping that both sides will join hands in realizing common perceptions reached by the two Parties and senior leaders. 

Vietnam welcomes the forthcoming State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary Xi and his attendance at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2017 as a contribution to further deepening Vietnam-China relations, Quan said.

Xi Jinping , in turn, said the CPC and himself always greatly value ties with Vietnam and desires to further relations between the two Parties and countries. He also voiced support for Vietnam’s successful hosting of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2017 and conveyed his regards to the Vietnamese Party chief and other Party and State leaders. 

Earlier, Quan held talks with head of the CPC Central Committee’s International Liaison Department Song Tao, during which Song affirmed that his nation consistently pursues the path of peaceful development and it is striving to achieve the goal of socialist modernization by 2035 and to finalize the building of a modern, powerful, democratic, harmonious and beautiful nation by the mid-21st century.
