Present at the meeting were Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Van Long and Deputy Chairman of the Government Office Cao Huy as well as fire and rescue police officers.

At the meeting, Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department Major General Nguyen Tuan Anh reported on the deputy minister and delegates on the situation and results of fire and rescue work in the past time, saying that that the fire and rescue police force has achieved many important results.

In the first quarter of 2023, there were 409 fire incidents nationwide, killing 19 people, injuring 11 others, down from the first quarter of 2022 in all terms of the number of fires (by 34 cases), casualties and property loses. The fire and rescue police force directly participated in extinguishing 212 fire incidents, saving 116 people.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long said, over the past time, the fire and rescue police force has had many innovations and achieved important results, reducing both material and human losses due to fire. Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long emphasized that, after the Prime Minister issued Directive No. 01 guiding a general fire inspection nationwide, the Ministry of Public Security directed the fire and rescue police force to inspect resident areas, production facilities.

During the campaign, the fire and rescue police force detected many violations of fire safety regulations, suspended thousands of violating production and business establishments. The Ministry of Public Security also directed local police to mobilize people to participate in fire prevention and fighting, specifically building inter-family firefighting models, which are now not only effective in fire prevention and fighting but also in ensuring security and order.

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang praised the fire and rescue police force for its achievements in recent years. The Deputy Prime Minister also commended the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Defense for promptly sending rescue forces to support Turkey in the recent earthquake, leaving a good impression and an image of the Vietnamese rescue forces of professionalism, creativity, sense of responsibility and capacity to local people and international friends.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the fire and rescue police force to strictly handle violations of the fire prevention and safety regulations while affirming that the Government and the Prime Minister will support the fire and rescue police to fulfill their very special responsibilities related to the people's lives and property.
