Foreign officials, diplomats in Africa pay tribute to President Quang

President of the Council of the Nation of Algeria Abdaelkader Bensalah on September 26 led a delegation to pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang at the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria.

Writing in the funeral book, he, on behalf of the Algerian President, Government and people, expressed his deepest condolences to the Vietnamese Government and people over the passing of their beloved President. 

He noted President Tran Dai Quang devoted his whole life to the nation and made concerted efforts to develop the friendship between Vietnam and Algeria.

Meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Quoc Tru, Bensalah stressed President Quang’s death is a great loss of Algeria, hoping the Vietnamese Government and people will overcome their sorrow soon.

More than 50 international delegations came to pay homage and write in the condolence book at the Vietnamese embassy in Algeria.

In Egypt, General Secretary of the Egyptian Socialist Party Ahmed Bahaa El-Din Shaaban came to the Vietnamese Embassy and wrote in the condolence book in tribute to President Quang. He offered his sympathy to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for this loss.

Writing in the condolence book, Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kirpichenko stated the passing of President Tran Dai Quang is a great loss to Vietnamese people and their international friends.

He affirmed Russia recognises President Quang’s devotion and contributions to the friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

Various diplomatic and international delegations in Egypt also paid tribute to President Quang, including representatives from the President and Government’s offices, Ambassadors of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Cambodia, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Hungary.

The Vietnamese embassies in South Africa and Mozambique also opened condolence books for President Tran Dai Quang on September 26 and 27. 

On behalf of the ruling Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), FRELIMO Secretary General Roque Silva Samuel and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas paid homage and conveyed condolences.
