Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the country should take a shortcut and make breakthroughs in digital transformation while everyone should well understand that data is precious resource of the country that needs to be exploited and become a driving force for development in the digital era.

On the morning of February 25, 2023, Chairman of the National Committee for National Digital Transformation and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a virtual national conference and the 5th meeting of the National Committee for National Digital Transformation and the Project 06 Working Group.

After listening to a summary report on orientations for key tasks of national digital transformation in 2023 and the draft 2023 work plan of the National Committee for National Digital Transformation as well as a summary report on results of the implementation of Project 06, delegates discussed measures to boost national digital transformation and the implementation of Project 06. 

Delegates pointed out outstanding results as well as shortcomings in implementing national digital transformation and Project 06, and proposed solutions to overcome the issues to step up the provision of online public services, data connection and sharing, human resource development, the process of national citizenship, and the building of a digital government, a digital economy, a digital society and a digital citizen in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam stated, since the meeting on December 25, 2022, ministries, branches and localities have attached much importance to implementing Project 06, leading to positive changes day by day.

As assigned by the Government, the Ministry of Public Security is focusing its efforts and means on the building of the National Data Center in 2023. 

The Ministry of Public Security considers it a particularly important task, requiring close coordination between ministries, branches and localities. 

He added that the construction of the National Data Center demonstrates that it is needed to change the approach to building databases.

According to him, the building of data must be associated with maintaining, updating, supplementing data. 

The minister stressed that as the National Population Database has been completed, the Ministry of Public Security is ready to support ministries, sectors, mass organizations and localities in building data to save costs and bring benefits to the people and society.

To conclude the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the ministries, branches and localities for their initial good results in digital transformation and Project 06.

Particularly, the prime minister praised the National Committee for National Digital Transformation, the Project 06 Working Group,  the Ministry of Public Security, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Finance, and localities such as Da Nang, Binh Phuoc, Nam Dinh, and Binh Duong, which had made great achievements in digital transformation and Project 06, benefiting people and businesses.

The Prime Minister emphasized that 2023 is the year "Building and exploiting data to create new values" with the main task of digitization, building, connecting and sharing data among ministries and sectors and localities while enhancing the protection of personal data, effectively exploiting and using data to better serve people and businesses.
