Leaders of Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense celebrate the 78th founding anniversary of Vietnam People's Army

The Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense held a meeting, on December 1, in Hanoi to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2022) and the 33 years of the All People's National Defense Festival (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2022).

Present at the meeting were State President and Commanderin-Chief of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, as well as a large number of general-rank officers, senior veterans, officials from Central agencies and ministries.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam emphasized that the two forces of the People's Army and the People's Public Security Forces have maintained close cooperation and coordination in firmly grasping the situation, promptly advising the Party and State leaders on many basic guidelines, strategies and solutions to flexibly and effectively handle emerging situations to firmly protect national independence, territorial sovereignty, safeguading national security, and ensuring social order and safety.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang sincerely thanked the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for their deep affections and warm comradeship while holding the meeting on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 33rd anniversary of the All People's National Defense Festival.

He said, the meeting vividly demonstrated the strong unity and close coordination between the leaders and the two forces over the past time.

Speaking at the meeting, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the occasion of the two events, and spoke highly of the coordination between the two important armed forces in safeguarding national security, protecting national soveriegnty, struggling against plots and acts of sabotage by hostile and reactionary forces, preventing and fighting crime on the border line, ensuring security and safety for major establishments, important events and international delegations visiting Vietnam. 

The strong bonds between the People's Army and People's Public Security Forces contributes to cementing the national unity bloc and strengthening the people's trust in the Party and State’ leadership.
