Malaysian King grants audience to Minister To Lam

General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, leading a Vietnamese delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), arrived in Kuala Lumpur on February 12, starting his official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Muhyiddin Yassin.

Within the framework of the visit, Minister To Lam and the delegation had an audience with King Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and had a talk with Mr. Muhyiddin Yassin. Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Le Quy Quynh to Malaysia joined the delegation.

During the reception for the visiting Vietnamese delegation, King Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah welcomed and appreciated the official visit of Minister To Lam and the high level delegation of the MPS of Vietnam to the country. He expressed his delight at the positive development of the strategic partnership between Malaysia and Vietnam in general and cooperation between the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia and the MPS of Vietnam in particular.

King Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah highly appreciated the good outcomes of the talks held earlier between the two ministries; and hoped that the two sides will continue to promote cooperation in combating transnational crimes.

On behalf of the delegation of the MPS, Minister To Lam thanked the King for the kind reception and conveyed the greetings of General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the King and other leaders of Malaysia.

Minister To Lam emphasized that Vietnam always attaches great importance to the strategic partnership between the two countries, saying that it serves as an important premise for the two countries to promote cooperation in many fields. The guest expressed his hoped that the strategic partnership between the two countries will further develop in the coming time.

Minister To Lam hoped that King Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah would create favorable conditions for the law enforcement agencies of the two countries to enhance delegation exchange at all levels in order to convey messages of leaders of the two countries and consolidate political trust between both sides. In addition, the two sides should strengthen cooperation in ensuring security and safety for citizens and businesses of one country studying, living and working in the other, coordinate in combating organizations and individuals who try to use one country's territory to sabotage the other.
