Minister To Lam checks task performance of Hanoi police in 2019

PSNews - General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, leading Inspection Team No. 1 of the Ministry of Public Security on November 29 worked with the Hanoi Municipal Police Department on their task performance in 2019.

The meeting saw the presence of Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Suu, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee among other representatives from various units under the Ministry of Public Security.

According to a report on the police task performance in 2019 delivered by Lieutenant General Doan Duy Khuong, Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department,the city police forces have maintained political security, social order and safety in Hanoi over the past time.

The unit has stamped out 47 criminal organizations and 1,067 criminal gangs, successfully handled 90.7% of the criminal reports and denunciations. Based on the criminal reports from the people, police forces promptly detected 905 cases and 910 people with signs of crime so as to take preventive measures against crimes.

The Hanoi Municipal Police Department also took the lead in managing local psychopaths and insane dope-takers while regularly inspecting and handling illegal use and trade of N2O gas and shisha.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam recognized and praised the achievements obtained by the officers and soldiers ofthe Hanoi Municipal Police Departmentin 2019.

Minister To Lam urged the Hanoi Municipal Police to proactively overcome challenges and minimize security risks, prevent newly emerging crimes and readily respond to complicated security situations. 

Additionally, the Hanoi Municipal Police Department should take measures to develop the capital police force while enhancing political education and discipline among police officers and soldiers. 

The unit was also requested to focus on the key tasks assigned by the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee, thus successfully completing their assigned political tasks.
