According to Minister To Lam, over the past time, the Public Security Forces have detected, investigated and prosecuted a number of complicated cases of wrongdoings in bidding and procurement of medical equipment at major hospitals and health agencies, such as the Hanoi CDC, Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi Heart Hospital, Ha Tinh Department of Health, Can Tho Department of Health, Son La Department of Health and so on.

As all prosecuted people have admitted their crimes, the Ministry of Public Security will speed up the investigation of the cases and take action against the accused in accordance with laws.

Regarding the second concern of NA deputies, Minister To Lam explained the smuggling and illegal trading of medical supplies, testing kits, and COVID-19 treatment medicines had become complicated in the time of COVID-19.

In this situation, the Ministry of Public Security directed the local police forces to deploy drastic measures to prevent and handle violations in illegally trading medicines and medical supplies, as well as vaccines.

Minister Lam also affirmed that, in the coming time, the Ministry of Public Security will continue applying scientific and technological advances, especially applications based on the National Database on Population, to effectively control the pandemic, thus contributing to creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development, facilitating lives and work of people and ensuring social security.

* The NA also listened to Government members’ explanation  about major labor and social issues on the afternoon of November 10.

Minister To Lam cleared up NA deputies’ concerns on the settlement of denunciations.

According to him, under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the Criminal Police Department is checking and verifying the information posted on mass media and reports from people about wrongdoings in charity activities for natural disaster victims of the 2020 flooding in the Central region.

The Criminal Police Department is currently coordinating with banks to review and identify the accounts that received donations as well as with the People's Committees and Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Committees of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Quang Ngai to investigate the charity funds

Minister To Lam also said that the Ministry of Public Security will propose competent agencies to revise law provisions on private fund-raising for needy people, natural disaster and fire victims, and critical patients, contributing to ensuring the publicity and transparency of private charity activities.
