General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security on June 11 in Hanoi held a reception for Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies Vojtech Filip.

At the meeting, Minister To Lam expressed delight at the good traditional friendship and cooperation relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, saying the ties have constantly developed in the fields of politics, economy, trade and investment, culture and education.

According to Minister To Lam, in the field of security cooperation, the two sides signed the agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons in June 2017, and the cooperation agreement on crime prevention and control in February 2019.

In order to promote cooperation in the fight against crimes and to ensure security and order in each country, the Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security proposed the Czech Government to speed up the ratification of the agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons between Vietnam and Czech.

Minister To Lam also hoped that, in the upcoming time, the law enforcement agencies of the two countries should increase exchange of delegations at all levels in order to promote cooperation and sharing of experience in prevention and fight against crimes, especially organized crimes, transnational crimes, high-tech crimes and human trafficking.

The two sides should also closely cooperate to prevent any organizations or individuals from taking advantage of one country's land to sabotage the other, while enhancing security and safety for diplomatic representative agencies as well as trade, investment, economic and tourism activities and expats of one country in the other country, emphasized Minister To Lam.

The Minister of Public Security hoped the Czech authorities would continue creating more favorable and stable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Czech, saying the Vietnamese people in Czech serve as a driving force to strengthen the precious traditional friendship between the two States and two nations.

For his part, Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies Vojtech Filip thanked Minister To Lam for the warm reception. He said Czech always trusts and supports Vietnam in multilateral forums and international organizations.

Mr. Vojtech Filip also highly appreciated the good cooperation between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies, especially in prevention and fight against drug-related crimes and in visa issuance.

The senior Czech parliamentarian hoped the good traditional friendship and cooperation relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in general and between the two law enforcement agencies in particular would further strengthened.
