Minister To Lam receives Ambassadors of Qatar and Mozambique

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on December 5 received separately Ambassador of Qatar to Vietnam Mohamed Ismael Al-Emadi and Ambassador of Mozambique to Vietnam Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene.

At the meeting with Qatari Ambassador, Minister To Lam emphasized that Vietnam always appreciated the cooperation with Qatar and thanked Qatar for its support for Vietnam’s run for a non-permanent member at the UN Security Council in the period 2020-2021.

He also suggested both sides continue to promote mutual support at multilateral forums, maintain balanced stance in international relations and respect international law and peaceful resolutions to international issues.

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam spoke highly of his upcoming visit to Qatar at the invitation of the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, saying that it would be a milestone in the bilateral cooperation between the two ministries in particular and the two countries in general in the field of security and order protection.

The two sides are expected to sign a deal to promote the implementation of the 2014 Agreement on crime prevention and combat signed between the MPS and the Ministry of Interior of Qatar. They also agreed to enhance exchange of information related to national security of each country and issues of mutual concern.

Ambassador Mohamed Ismael Al-Emadi thanked Minister To Lam for his reception and vowed to do his best to promote the cooperation between the two ministries and countries during his term of office in Vietnam.

Receiving the Ambassador of Mozambique, Minister To Lam expressed delight at the fine developments in the traditional relationship and friendship between the two countries in various areas and wished to promote the bilateral relations in the future, especially on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mozambique diplomatic relation (June 25, 1975 – 2020).

Minister To Lam emphasized that the MPS of Vietnam attaches great importance to and wishes to promote the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with relevant ministries and partners of Mozambique in the fields of security, police, criminal justice, crime prevention and combat in order to ensure national security, social order and safety of each country, and protect legitimate rights and interests of the two countries’ citizens. The host also suggested the two sides strengthen mutual support at international and regional security forums.

Minister To Lam also revealed that both sides will sign important agreements during his upcoming visit to Mozambique.

Ambassador Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene thanked Minister To Lam for the reception and hoped that the relations between the two countries in general and between the MPS of Vietnam and relevant agencies of Mozambique would flourish in the future. He also vowed to do his best promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.
