At the meeting, Minister To Lam congratulated Mr. Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich on his appointment as Russian ambassador to Vietnam and wished him success in his term of office in Vietnam. The host believed that the Russian senior diplomat will contribute to promoting the bilateral ties between the two countries during his term of office in Vietnam.
Despite the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in both countries, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the law enforcement agencies of Russia still carry out a number of important cooperation activities.
The two sides continue to exchange information, share experience, and maintain cooperation in combating all kinds of crimes, especially hi-tech crimes, drug traficking and human trafficking.
Currently, the two sides are discussing a number of important cooperation deals such as the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the field of personnel training, the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Russian National Guard, and the joint action program between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the period of 2022 – 2024.
Russian Ambassador Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich thanked Minister To Lam for the reception and affirmed that he will contribute to further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam in general, and cooperation between the Russian law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular.
