Ministry of Public Security meets with heads of Vietnam’s overseas representative offices

The Ministry of Public Security hosted a meeting with heads of overseas Vietnamese representative missions appointed in 2023, on the afternoon of March 1, 2023, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam congratulated the Ambassadors and heads of overseas Vietnamese representative missions on their new nomination as representatives of the country abroad.

He said “I wish you big success in your upcoming term of office.”

Minister To Lam expressed his belief that the newly-acredited Ambassadors and heads of Vietnamese representative missions abroad will successfully fulfill their mission of boosting relations and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, raise Vietnam's position in the international arena and provide support for the overseas Vietnamese community.

Based on the coordination mechanism between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the past time, Minister To Lam said that the People's Public Security Forces have closely coordinated with the diplomatic sector to effectively implement foreign affairs tasks. 

The two ministries have coordinated in realizing the foreign policy of the Party and State, stepping up  the country's integration with the world, contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment and creating favorable conditions for the development of the country.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the newly-norminated heads of the overseas Vietnamese representative missions, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son thanked Minister To Lam, other leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies for their close coordination and support for the diplomatic sector. 

He affirmed that the coordination and information exchange mechanism between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is run in an efficient and effective manner.

At the same time, he emphasized the high international responsibility and significance when the Ministry of Public Security sent officers and officers to participate in UN peacekeeping operations, cooperate closely with international partners in the prevention and fight against transnational crimes and recently dispatched a rescue mission to participate in search and rescue operations in Turkey.
