As part of his opening remarks at the event, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that this marks the final sitting of the NA Standing Committee as efforts are implemented in preparation for the 15th legislature’s fourth session which is scheduled to open on October 20.

During the course of the three-day sitting, the NA Standing Committee will take time to examine reports presented by the Government and verification reports of the NA’s committees relating to the performance of the socio-economic development plan and state budget plan this year.

This will be part of efforts to assess the goals, targets, tasks, and solutions of the socio-economic development plan and the central budget allocation plan for 2023, he said.

During the fourth session, the legislature will decide on the medium-term financial and budgetary plans for the 2023 to 2025 period in accordance with the Law on State Budget relating to the rate of budget regulation of provinces and cities, macroeconomic indicators, fiscal balance, overspending, public debts, and debt repayment targets, NA Chairman Hue added.

Full-time legislators will give their opinions on a draft report summarising opinions and recommendations of voters and people submitted to the NA’s fourth session.

They will look into reports on the implementation of the NA’s resolutions on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the future development of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as specific financial and budgetary mechanisms and policies for Hanoi.

Measures aimed at handling problems at some toll stations and BOT projects will be tabled at this session, the NA leader said, adding that the NA Standing Committee will also scrutinise a draft resolution on a pilot programme, thereby allowing people to select car plates via auctions.

The NA Standing Committee will also present opinions on the personnel work to submit to the NA's fourth session, as well as the personnel work under its jurisdiction.
