Party, Government leaders receive Vientiane Governor

On March 27, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the visiting Governor of Laos’ Vientiane capital, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, in Hanoi.

Meeting with the Lao guest, Party leader Trong expressed his wish that Vientiane will continue working hand in hand with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnamese localities to further improve the efficiency of multifaceted coordination, including sharing experience in the building of the Party and political system, and socio-economic management.

He hailed Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune's visit which is concurrent with the 55th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation and appreicated the outcomes of the working session between Hanoi authorities and the Vientiane delegation, and cooperation between the two capital cities over the past years.

The Governor of Vientiane briefed Trong on cooperative ties between Vientiane and Vietnamese localities, as well as effective support that Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have provided for the Lao capital in the fields of economy, agriculture, tourism, health care, education, culture, experience sharing, and personnel training. 

He also assured his capital's readiness to work closely with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese localities to continue further improving the efficiency of their all-around collaboration, contributing to effectively realising agreements reached by the two Parties and countries’ leaders.

During his reception for visiting Vientiane Governor Sinlavong the same day, PM Phuc highlighted the Lao Governor’s visit to Hanoi as a contribution to strengthening the bilateral ties between the two cities.

The Lao Governor informed the cabinet leader about the achievements the two nations have recently recorded, including the memorandum of understanding on promoting future cooperation.

He said he hopes PM Phuc will continue facilitating cooperation programmes and projects between the two capital cities.

He also pledged to do his utmost to reinforce the special friendship between the two Parties, States and people, and the two capital cities.

PM Phuc called on the two capital cities to make every effort to accelerate cooperation programmes, particularly technical coordination in building green, clean, and beautiful cities.

He expressed his hope that both sides will intensify their exchanges and experience sharing in capital development.
