The Public Security Central Party Committee (PSCPC) held a conference on December 20 in Hanoi to review the results of its leadership of the entire Public Security Forces over the past time as well as set out objectives and key missions in the coming time.

The event saw the presence of Party Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, among other delegates. General To Lam, Secretary of the PSCPC and Minister of Public Security, chaired the conference.

At the conference, the delegates listened and discussed important reports on task performances of the PSPC in 2021 and draft documents to be delivered at the upcoming 77th National Public Security Conference.

The conference agreed that, in spite of difficulties caused by the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the PSCPC has led the entire Public Security Forces to successfully implement the Party's guidelines on safeguarding national security and maintaining public order and security and  the resolutions of the 13th Party National Congress as well as the Resolution of the 7th Public Security Party Congress.

Under the direction of the PSCPC, particularly its Standing Commission, the Public Security Forces have excellently completed the dual tasks assigned by the Government of controlling the pandemic and maintaining public order and safety.

During the conference, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh applauded the PSCPC and the Ministry of Public Security for their achievements in completing their tasks in 2021.

Regarding their tasks in the coming time, the Party chief requested the PSCPC to lead the entire Public Security Forces to thoroughly grasp the situation at home and abroad, not to be put in a disadvantage or surprise, to hold the initiative in all situations, while drawing up plans to ensure absolute safety and security amid the COVID-19 pandemic and during the country’s important political events, and defeat sabotage activities by hostile and reactionary forces.

The Party leader suggested that the Public Security Forces take more drastic and effective actions against corruption and wrongdoings in economic sphere, and specially complete investigation of long-standing cases and cases of great public concern.

He stressed that the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security must always be put under the absolute, direct, and comprehensive leadership of the Party Central Committee while coordinating closely with the People’s Army, other ministries, agencies, and the people to create a solid people’s security posture.

According to him, the cause of protecting national security and public order must be participated in by the entire political, people from all walks of life, all forces with the Public Security Forces as the core force.

The Party General Secretary noted that that the Central Public Security Party Committee should pay special attention to Party building and rectification in Party organizations of public security agencies and units so that each Party cell is a really pure and strong Party organization, while accelerating the drafting of the project on building revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern People’s Public Security Forces early to submit to the Politburo for consideration.

In his concluding speech, Minister of Public Security General To Lam said the Party chief’s directions gave important orientations for the PSCPC and the Public Security Forces of their political tasks of protecting national security, ensuring social safety and order as well as of building public security forces in 2022 and the entire tenure of the PSCPC.
