Party, State and NA leaders write touching words about late former Party chief

PSNews - Leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Governments, Central agencies, ministries and localities came to the State funeral of former Party General Secretary Do Muoi and paid the last respect to him at the National Funeral Hall in Hanoi on October 6.

From 7am, October 6, various high-ranking delegations and people gathered at the National Funeral Hall, queuing up to pay tribute to the deceased Party leader.

Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong, leading a delegation of the Central Committee of the CPV, paid homage to former Party General Secretary Do Muoi. Writing on the funeral book, he expressed his deep sadness and gratitude to former Party General Secretary Do Muoi.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong writes that Party General Secretary Do Muoi is an “excellent and prestigious leader of the Party, the State and Vietnamese people; a Communist Party member who is very persistent, loyal to the Party’s cause, and has devoted all of his life to national independence and socialism, as well as prosperity and happiness of the people. Especially, Party General Secretary Do Muoi has made great contributions to the past struggle for national liberation, country unification as well as to the current process of renewal, construction and defense of the Fatherland”.

Meanwhile, former Party chief Le Kha Phieu praised comrade Do Muoi as a steadfast and loyal warrior, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, an outstanding leader of the Party, the State and the people of Vietnam.

“During his more-than-80-year revolutionary career, Comrade Do Muoi held a number of important positions but he always accomplished them impressively. Comrade Do Muoi has made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and the building of socialism in Vietnam”, former Party chief Le Kha Phieu writes in the funeral book.

“Your passing has left a great grief to the Party, the State and the people of Vietnam and many international friends. The current  generation of the Vietnamese people is always grateful and remembers your life, career and great contributions to the independence, freedom and happiness of the Vietnamese people,” Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh writes in the funeral book.

After offering incense, paying the last respect to the former Party chief and offering condolences to the deceased former Party General Secretary’s family, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc writes in the funeral book: “During his revolutionary career, former Party General Secretary Do Muoi experienced a number of key positions in the Party and Government but in every position, he left left a deep impression and contributed to the development of our country, particularly to the development of heavy industry and the national industrialization and modernization process, in line with the principle of developing a self-reliant economy”.

Paying the last respect to former Party chief Do Muoi, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan showed her deep grief over his decease. She regarded him as a “virtuous, exemplary, talented and steadfast leader of the Party”. “He has devoted his life to the cause of struggle for national liberation, for independence and unification of the country, and for peace, prosperity and happiness of the people,” NA Chairwoman writes in the funeral book.
