General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, who is also member of the Standing Commission of the Public Security Central Party Committee, attended a conference reviewing the results of leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee in the first 6 months of 2023, on the morning of June 15, in Hanoi.

The event also saw the participation of State President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent member of Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Thi Mai, and General To Lam, Minister of Public Security.

At the conference, delegates listened to and then discussed the draft report from the Public Security Central Party Committee on its work results in the first six months of 2023, its big orientations and key tasks for the last six months.

The delegates unanimously assessed that since the 13th Party Congress, the world and regional situations have undergone rapid and complex changes, accompanied by unprecedented challenges that make forecasting and policy-making difficult. In such a context, thePublic Security Central Party Committee has focused on leading and directing the People's Public Security Force to take initiative and fulfil its responsibility of advising the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government.

They have maintained strategic initiative and balance, promptly and comprehensively deployed police work, ensured social order and safety, and actively contributed to the protection of territorial sovereignty and national interests.

Since the beginning of this term, the Public Security Central Party Committee has successfully achieved and exceeded the goals and tasks set in all aspects of their work, following the roadmap outlined in the resolution of the 13th Party Congress. Notably, national security and the maintenance of social order and safety have achieved significant accomplishments.

The implementation process has been thorough, effective, and innovative, resulting in notable changes and setting a clear example of leadership aligned with the goals and requirements established in the resolution of the 13th Party Congress.

The Public Security Central Party Committee has directed and implemented the three key tasks with "breakthrough" significance outlined in the Resolution of the 7th Central Public Security Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, which has yielded positive outcomes and served as prominent achievements.

Delegates also listened to and commented on the draft report on the leadership of the Standing Commission of the Public Security Central Party Committee in the first half of the 2020-2025 term as well as the orientations for major tasks of the Public Security Forces in the last 6 months of 2023.

Speaking at the conference, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong praised the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ministry of Public Security for their achievements in leading the Public Security Forces to complete their work plans in the first half of the last term.

The Party General Secretary emphasized, the People's Public Security Forces had successfully completed their assigned political tasks, promoted their position, firmly safeguarded the Fatherland, maintained political and social stability, public order and safety, creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development and the peaceful and happy life of the people.

On behalf of the Standing Commission of the Public Security Central Party Committee, General To Lam sincerely thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for their instructions.

The General Secretary praised the Party Commission of the the Public Security Central Party Committee for taking the lead of the political system in bringing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress into life; while the Ministry of Public Security has been the first among the Central agencies and ministries to streamline its the apparatus as well as in building the People’s Public Security Forces as a truly clean, regular, elite and modernized force to meet the requirements for tasks in the current situation.
