Reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister, a leader of the Economic Police Department stated that the department's leadership directed the entire Economic Police Force to take synchronous professional measures to investigate and handle criminal cases in the areas of corruption, smuggling, and economic crimes, over the past year.

Speaking at the working session, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh underlined that the Economic Police Department has fostered a good long-standing tradition and achieved numerous outstanding accomplishments in performing its assigned tasks, stressing that the unit has made significant contributions to maintaining the order, discipline and regulation in economic management, as well as in Party building and rectification.

Commending the unit for its excellent achievements over the past time, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the Economic Police Department continue to advise the Government and the Prime Minister to mend loopholes in the law and limitations in mechanisms and policies so as to complete the legal framework for economic management.

The Economic Police Force proactively identified and addressed emerging, sensitive, and complex economic issues in a timely manner, contributing to promoting national socio-economic development under the leadership of the Party and State, and reinforcing the people’s trust in the Party.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister urged the police department to further strengthen its position in the system of agencies in charge of combating corruption and negative phenomena, while continuing its effort to prevent and fight wastefulness as well as non-traditional crimes, particularly high-tech crimes.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also extended best Tet regards to all officers and the ranks of the Economic Police Department, wishing them a healthy, joyful, and prosperous New Year, as well as more success in doing their assigned tasks.
