By 2030, Phu Tho aims to become one of the growth poles of the Capital Region; a centre for industry, trade, logistics, tourism, health care, high-quality training, and major cultural festivals linked with the nation’s roots; and a venue for national and international events.

The goal was set out at the first Congress of the provincial Party Organisation for the 2025-2030 tenure, which wrapped up on September 30.

Key targets include doubling the size of GRDP compared to 2025; more than doubling per capita GRDP to 220–230 million VND (8.3–8.7 million USD); ensuring the digital economy accounts for over 30% of GRDP; attracting total investment of over 910 trillion VND in five years. It aims to increase State budget revenue by more than 10% annually to surpass 85 trillion VND by 2030; raise the provincial digital transformation index to at least 0.75; and ensure more than 80% of residents and businesses use online public services.

Looking ahead to 2045, Phu Tho envisions becoming a centrally governed city with modern infrastructure, a prosperous society, high living standards, an advanced culture rich in identity, a healthy and livable environment, and firmly safeguarded national defence, security, and social order.

The congress reviewed the implementation of the previous five-year resolution and discussed draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress.

It adopted its resolution for the new term, under which the provincial Party Organisation, authorities, armed forces, and people of all ethnic groups in Phu Tho will strive to build a clean and strong Party Organisation and political system; promote solidarity and the cultural traditions of the ancestral land; take the lead in innovation, creativity, and digital transformation; create breakthroughs for rapid and sustainable development; and join the nation in advancing with confidence and resilience into the era of the nation's rise.

At the congress, the Party Central Committee's Organisation Commission announced the Politburo’s decisions on the appointment of members of the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board, and the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.

Truong Quoc Huy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ninh Binh province, was appointed Secretary of the Phu Tho Party Committee for the new tenure.
