The Ministry of Public Security held the ceremony to commence National Data Center (NDC) No. 1 and officially launch its database system on August 18, in Hanoi. Member of the Politburo and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the ceremony and delivered a keynote address.

Also present at the event were Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang and Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung.

At the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and other delegates jointly pressed the button to inaugurate NDC No. 1 and announce the official operation of its database system.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for their good instructions, and leaders of NDC No. 1, for their close supervision of the project.

He also commended the construction contractors and equipment suppliers for completing the project on schedule with high quality and cost efficiency. 

The Prime Minister stressed that the launch of NDC No. 1 and its database system holds special significance in political, economic, social, security and defense terms. 

He underlined that NDC No. 1 is the first step as the long-term goal is to develop a comprehensive network of national data centers, adding that several subsequent centers will soon be established.

The Prime Minister emphasized that these data centers should be flexibly and effectively interconnected with other domestic data systems and integrated in the global data network, starting with the connection with ASEAN. 

Regarding future tasks, PM Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Public Security to take the lead and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to draft a government decree on breakthrough mechanisms so as to transform data exploitation into a center of the digital economy. 

He urged the ministry to swiftly operationalize the Integration, Sharing and Data Coordination Platform of NDC, implement the Cloud Computing Platform and Unified Data Warehouse, and develop a Data Analytics System to serve the Government and Prime Minister in governance and management of the economy and society, while providing better services for citizens and businesses.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long expressed sincere thanks to the PM for his instructions, and pledged that the Ministry of Public Security will seriously implement the PM’s guidelines. 

He stressed that the Ministry of Public Security will direct the entire Public Security Forces to realize the Prime Minister’s instructions, and work closely with ministries, agencies and localities to effectively fulfill all the tasks assigned by the government.
