Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his delight at meeting with the security officers, who had reinforced the Southern battlefield, in a resplendent atmosphere when the nation is celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

Conveying the warm regards and congratulations of Party General Secretary To Lam to them, the Prime Minister affirmed that the South-reinforced security officers are a shining example of steadfastness, resilience, intelligence, courage and readiness to face hardships and sacrifices for the Fatherland’s independence and freedom.

He emphasized that, no matter how difficult or dangerous their assignment was, the South-reinforced security officers had always showed their heroic and indomitable qualities as well as their strong determination to fight and defeat the enemy.

In fact, they obtained a number of large exploits and stood side by side with the military and the people to defeat the Americans, liberate the South and reunify the nation.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and people will forever remember the heroic martyrs, including fallen South-reinforced security officers, who laid down their lives on the Southern battlefield.

The head of the government said that their sacrifices is always a source of pride and an invaluable spiritual asset of the nation and of the heroic People’s Public Security Forces.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, sectors and localities, particularly the Ministry of Public Security, to continue upholding the national tradition of “Gratitude-returning” and take due care of families with meritorious services to the revolution, particularly South-reinforced security officers.

He stressed that the Party, State and people expect that they, with their firm political will and indomitable spirit, set a shining example of “higher age, brighter spirit”, and continue implementing the Party’s and State’s policies on national construction and defense as well as ensuring grassroots-level security and order. 

They are also expected to inspire and encourage the current generation of the Public Security Forces and people to contribute their parts to safeguarding national security and building a prosperous and secure nation.

The meeting was attended by Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To.
