Vietnam, France look towards stronger strategic partnership

France attaches importance to Vietnam’s increasingly prominent role and position in the region and the international arena, and wishes to accompany Vietnam in its new era of development, said outgoing French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet.

The PM required ministries, agencies and localities to regularly review and update growth scenarios on a monthly and quarterly basis, proactively identify bottlenecks affecting growth targets and promptly remove them.

From an economy that has made strong use of integration opportunities, Vietnam is increasingly seen as a country capable of proactively creating development space, establishing its position in regional and global networks and making more substantive contributions to common issues.

Leaders of nations extend congratulations to Vietnam on National Day

The August Revolution of 1945 stands as one of the most glorious milestones in Vietnam’s history of national construction and defence. Its great victory broke the chains of colonial rule, transforming the Vietnamese people from a nation deprived of independence into masters of their own country and opening an era of national independence associated with socialism.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai expressed the Vietnamese people’s deep sympathy for the difficulties and losses suffered by the Chinese people, stressing the longstanding close friendship between the two countries, which are “comrades and brothers,” as well as the traditional cooperation between the VFF and the CPPCC.

Congratulating the recipients, NA Chairman Man said the Party has led the Vietnamese revolution through numerous challenges, helping the country achieve important accomplishments in the process of national construction and development. These achievements were made possible in part by the great contributions and dedication of generations of Party officials and members, including those honoured at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam highlighted Quang Ninh’s special role in Vietnam’s history of national construction and defence, stressing that since Quang Ninh province was established in 1963, generations of officials and people have worked together to transform a war-ravaged area into a dynamic locality.

Presenting the draft law, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai said the six-article draft focuses on reviewing and revising provisions concerning decentralisation, delegation of authority and the division of responsibilities in the industrial and commercial sectors, while addressing bottlenecks that have emerged during implementation.

Top leader To Lam expressed his hope that veteran Party members would continue to maintain their health and draw on their prestige, wisdom, experience and revolutionary spirit to remain a source of spiritual support for Party committees, authorities and the people; offer frank and constructive opinions on Party and government building; and pass on revolutionary traditions to the younger generations.

The PM noted with pleasure that Vietnam-China ties have advanced steadily in recent years. Vietnam always considers developing its relations with China a consistent policy, an objective requirement, a strategic and natural choice, and a top priority in its overall foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, he stressed.

Congratulating Regional Director of UNICEF's Asia-Pacific Regional Office (APRO) Sanjay Wijesekera on his new appointment, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thanh Tra highlighted the historic achievements of five decades of cooperation between Vietnam and UNICEF, describing the partnership as one built on close coordination, mutual trust and effective collaboration in protecting, caring for, educating and promoting the development of children.

Vietnam's attainments today are attributable to enormous sacrifices by previous generations, efforts by the entire people, and precious support and assistance from international friends, including the Singaporean Government and people, said Politburo member and Standing Member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
