Public security press asked to promote pioneering position on ideological front

PSNews – Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Politburo member on June 20 led a working delegation to visit and congratulate the Public Security Newspaper on the occasion of the 93rd Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2018).

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh was accompanied by Deputy Chief of the Governmental Office Nguyen Van Tung; Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Nam and Director of the Government Portal Vi Quang Dao.

The event also saw the participation of Major General Mai Van Ha, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the People’s Public Security Forces; Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-Chief of the Public Security Newspaper; leaders of the Public Security Newspaper’s divisions; and representatives of the Public Security Publishing House and the Public Security Magazine.

At the meeting, Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-Chief of the Public Security Newspaper briefed the Deputy Prime Minister and his working delegation on the professional activities and task performance of the newspaper in the past time as well as plans for the future.

Major General Pham Van Mien said, the Public Security Newspaper currently has 6 print publications and online editions (Vietnamese, English and Chinese). In the context of fast development of science and technology as well as other types of newspapers, the newspaper is still trying to maintain its principles and fame, at the same time well carries out the task of popularizing policies of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.

Besides journalism activities, the newspaper of the whole Public Security Forces has also paid much attention over the past years to charity activities, connecting the benefactors to poor people, victims of natural disasters and soldiers injured while on duty.

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh congratulated leaders, officers and all staff members of the Public Security Newspaper on the occasion and praised the efforts of the press agency of the in the past time.

He spoke highly of the glorious history of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press and said that the public security press sector in general, the Public Security Newspaper in particular has grown up in all aspects, contributing significantly to the cause of protecting security and order security in the country and building cleaner and stronger public security forces.

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh then urged the newspaper to fulfil their duties and deserve to be a leading force in the frontline of culture and ideology, while actively participating in protecting the Party, the State and the interests of the people and disseminating information to help the people understand the major policies of the Party, the State as well as the Ministry of Public Security.

He also asked the press agency to encourage people to participate in the movement "All people protecting national security" while  joining efforts of the Party, the State in the fight against negative phenomena, corruption, smuggling, trade frauds, manifestations of political and moral degradation within the Party.

He noted that the Public Security Newspaper should demonstrate their pioneering role of the revolutionary press in fighting allegations and false information of hostile forces downgrading, slandering and undermining the internal unity of the Party and society.
