Steering Committee for implementation of Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW established

Politburo member, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired a conference, on the morning of December 9, Hanoi, to announce a decision on the establishment of the Steering Committee for Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW issued March 16, 2022, by the Politburo.

At the conference, delegates listened to the decision on the establishment of the Steering Committee, the Steering Committee's assistant group, the proposal for its working regulation and a decision on the membership of the Steering Committee.

Accordingly, the Steering Committee consists of 32 high-ranking officials, including 8 leaders of Central-level agencies, ministries and equivalents, namely the Office of the Party Central Committee, the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, the Office of the Government, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Justice, Committee for National Defense and Security.

The Steering Committee is headed by Politburo member, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam while member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To is Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

The assisting group of the Steering Committee consists of 16 officials led by Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant General To An Xo, and Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen is Deputy Head.

After listening to the decisions and related documents, delegates evaluated the implementation of the resolutions of the Politburo and the Public Security Central Party Committee, discussed the draft working regulation for the committee, and decided to assign tasks to members of the Steering Committee and its working group.

Concluding the conference, Minister To Lam suggested that the Steering Committee direct all public security agencies and units to develop plans to implement the project after it is approved.

Public security agencies and units should effectively use their available human and material resources and mobilize maximum lawful resources to implement and complete each item of the project on the priority lists following the mottos "do one thing at a time", and have a specific roadmap to reach the targets set by the project.

The Steering Committee should direct all public security agencies and units to implement contents and solutions in the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 12 after it is approved , signed and promulgated by the Prime Minister while closely working with the National Assembly Party Committee on objectives, tasks and solutions to build truly clean, strong, regular, elite, modern People's Public Security Forces to meet their task requirements in the new situation in line with Resolution No. 12 of the Politburo.

At the same time, public security agencies and units at all levels should further review, adjust and perfect their organizational structure in accordance with their practical functions and tasks and in the direction of small scale but high professionalism and efficiency.
