As part of the state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan by Party General Secretary To Lam, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang had talks with the host country’s Minister of of Internal Affairs Vusal Eyvazov and Director of the State Security Service Ali Naghiyev on May 8, in Baku.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov have agreed to continue strengthening co-operation in the field of oil and gas, a move which is a long-term strategic priority of both sides.

A primary school built with funds from Azerbaijan’s Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been inaugurated in Giap Trung commune in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang.

Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Dinh Quy has stressed the need for the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) to take the lead in promoting peace and security based on the UN Charter and international law – a prerequisite to sustainable development.

Despite nearly 7,000km separating Azerbaijan and Vietnam, the two countries share several cultural similarities, said experts at a recent conference entitled The Parallels of Azerbaijani and Vietnamese Cultures.
