President Luong Cuong met with Lautaro Carmona Soto, president of the Communist Party of Chile, in Santiago de Chile on November 10 (local time), as part of his ongoing visit to Chile.

The upcoming official visit to Chile by President Luong Cuong is expected to open up new opportunities for trade relations between the two countries, especially as bilateral trade ties have made impressive progress in recent times.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 27 evening phoned Chilean President Sebastian Piñera to discuss about the Vietnam - Chile relations, as well as bilateral cooperation in climate change response and the COVID-19 fight.

The contributions made by President Ho Chi Minh to Vietnam’s freedom and independence as well as to the communist ideal and world peace and justice were highlighted at a meeting in Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile, on May 19 on the occasion of the late leader’s 129th birthday (May 19).

The Vietnamese Consulate General in the Lao province of Savannakhet on May 18 held an incense offering ceremony at President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Sayaphoum village, Kaysone Phomvihane township, to celebrate the late leader’s 128th birth anniversary (May 19). 

The Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will offer new opportunities for both Vietnam and Chile, said President Tran Dai Quang at a March 8 reception in Hanoi for outgoing Chilean Ambassador Claudio Andres De Negri Quintana.
