PSNews - The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) and the National Population Data Center under the Ministry of Public Security will pilot use of chip-based ID cards for fast check-in for some domestic flights may begin from April next year.

The US, Japan, Taipei (Taiwan), Singapore, and Cambodia have agreed with Vietnam’s proposal to resume commercial passenger flights, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has required domestic airlines to increase flights during the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in order to meet the increasing travel demand.

Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) Dinh Viet Thang has stated that Vietnamese airlines have yet to use the Boeing 737 Max. 

Over 38,000 flights operated by Vietnam-based carriers were delayed or canceled in the first 11 months of 2016, according to a recent report by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
