The northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh has carried out an array of measures to ensure the livelihoods of local ethnic minority groups, thus enhancing the local living standards, under the national target programme for socioeconomic development in ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous areas.

PSNews – In order to improve the efficiency of the prevention and fight against Covid-19, the Gia Lai authorities and police forces have taken various approaches, including disseminating information about the disease for people, especially ethnic people living in remote areas. 

 A photograph exhibition showcasing the culture of ethnic people from different regions across the country is being held in the south-central province of Phu Yen from August 13-16.

PSNews – Senior Colonel Thung Van Nhiem, Vice Director of the Department of Homeland Security, on October 31 received a delegation of reputable persons of ethnic minorities from Ninh Thuan province.

More than 90% of the population of Xuan Giang commune in Ha Giang province is Tay ethnic minority people. Local authorities have established Folk Artisans’ Associations to preserve and develop their traditional cultural identities, especially as it relates to folk melodies and musical instruments.

The living standards of Khmer ethnic people in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang have been improved in recent years thanks to the Party and State’s investment policies to develop the region.

PSNews -  A seminar themed “Disseminating insurance policies and mobilizing local and ethnic people to voluntarily buy social insurance in Northwestern provinces” was organized by the Vietnam Social Insurance, Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs and Ethnic Minority and Development Newspaper in Dien Bien city (Dien Bien province) on October 21.
